A very charming, large format country winter landscape executed in the mid 1960’s, oil on canvas signed bottom right. Sight dimensions, 19.25” high x 23.5” wide, set within its original gallery frame measuring 28.5” high x 32.5” high.
Thomas Harold Beament is considered to be one of Canada's best landscape & figurative artists, perhaps best known for his scenes of the Canadian arctic and of its indigenous people, as well as for his works of rural country landscapes. During the Second World War he commanded minesweepers before serving as the Senior Naval War Artist from 1943 to 1947. He was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy (RCA) in 1946 and became President of the Royal Canadian Academy (PRCA) in 1964 until 1967. His work is represented in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Canada, The Dominion Archives, The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and The Museum of the Province of Quebec.Please contact us by either phone at
