Two Very Fine Pairs of 19th Century Agate Handled Sterling Silver Fruit Knives & Forks

 

Both pairs of these handsome agate handled fruit knives & forks are fitted with sterling silver blades & tines, all bearing Edinburgh hallmarks with date letter for 1848 and makers marks for noted Scottish silversmiths Robb & Whittet. All four are mounted with sterling silver ferrules to hand-fashioned agate handles inset with sterling silver shield shaped cartouches with an engraved stylized M or T.

Both knives measure 7. 3/4" long, the forks measure 7" long.
