Frame dimensions, 27.25” x 22”Friedrich Moosbrugger was a German genre & portrait artist working in the Realist Style of the early 19th century. He first studied art with his father Wendelin Moosbrugger who was Court Painter for Frederick 1st of Wurttemberg, he then went on to study at the Munich Academy of Fine Art, afterwards he moved to Italy where he painted with a group of German artists working in Rome and Naples during the early part of the 19th century.
Vittoria Caldoni was an Italian woman from Albano who was most favoured as a sitter by several of the German artists working in Italy at the time.
