Pair of Brass Studded Leather Tapaderos, Western United States Circa 1930
These were used as stirrup covers for ranchers herding cattle in the brush and open field.
Made of stitched heavy gauge leather, applied with brass studs and retaining their original adjustable straps. Both exhibit an excellent old patina.
Given their unusual form, texture and aesthetics these have several décor applications as design elements.
