A 19th century etching depicting a procession of merry-makers following behind Death as it plays a spade-shaped instrument. Artists monogram shown bottom right. Plate size (sight), 6.5” x 15”.
Custom framed & triple matted using museum archival materials, frame dimensions 13.25” x 21.75”.
This work by Alfred Wordsworth Thompson was executed in 1867 and is referenced in the collection of The National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. and at Les Musee de la Ville de Paris, France.
