A Very Good 19th Century ‘Grand Tour’ Desk-Top Bronze of the Farnese Hercules, Continental Circa 1890

A finely executed full length bronze of the Farnese Hercules shown resting upon his club, the skin of the Nemean Lion draped over it, behind him he clutches the Apples of Hesperides in his right hand. Finely cast in two sections and exhibiting a fine mellow patina overall, this handsome bronze demonstrates excellent perspective, proportion and attention to musculature detail.
