An Exceptional Pair of 19th Century Enamelled Colonnettes, Vienna Circa 1850

 

Both enamelled copper columns decorated overall with hand painted meandering flowering vines, rising from filigree ormolu terminals with dolphin grotesques & bacchanal figures, to gilt bronze Composite style capitals. These highly attractive & visually striking architectural elements were most likely intended as decorative mounts on an important piece of formal case furniture.

Height of Colonnettes, 17”. Framed dimensions, 25.25” high x 18.25” wide x 3.75” deep.
