An Early 20th Century Silver Plated Oyster Bucket, English Circa 1930
The ribbed circular body fitted with loop handles and a removable mazarine, the front engraved ‘Chez Henri’ in script. The underside bearing impressed makers marks for John Round & Son, Sheffield.
Dimensions, 4” high x 10.5” diameter.
The ‘Chez Henri’ was once the most prestigious hotel restaurant in the National Capital region, owned & operated by the then internationally renowned chef Henry Burger, who had studied with two of the greatest French chefs of the 20th century - Escoffier and Ballard. The hotel was later declared a heritage site in 2003.
