An 18th Century Carved Cherub / Liturgical Element, Continental Circa 1750
Deftly carved in what appears to be butternut with remnants of peg joins, and exhibiting a fine mellow, old patina overall. The reverse showing an old eye screw previously used for wall mounting, along with inscribed with numerals. The very old age-related crack has benefited from later conservation, creating a very stable & sound structure. Dimensions, 6.75” high x 11.25” wide x 4.5” deep.
