A Very Good Porcelain & Gilt Decorated Cache Pot / Wine Cooler, France Circa 1940

The body with cupped handles, richly decorated overall in gilt detail with French Empire classical motifs of bees and a romantic cartouche of a beribboned crossed quiver and torch suggesting that ‘love wounds & inflames’. Factory marks in gilt script on underside. Dimensions, 8.5” high x 8.5” diameter.
