  • A Very Good Pair of 18th Century George III Sterling Silver Shoe Buckles, London 1792


    Both showing curvilinear segments interspersed by flower-head & leaf shaped elements, decorated by hand with bright-cut detail. Bearing London hallmarks, date mark for 1792 and makers marks for London silversmith & noted buckle-maker specialist Thomas Wright. One buckle missing its pin, chape & tongue.

    Dimensions, 1” high x 2.5” wide x 2.5” deep. 

    An example of Thomas Wright's work is in the permanent collection of the Chertsey Museum in England, which specializes in period dress & textiles.
