A Very Good Inlaid Regency Period Pearwood Tea Caddy, England Circa 1825
The pearwood case decorated with contrasting ebonized mouldings, the top centred by an inlaid diamond shaped lozenge within a crossbanded kingwood border, the front similarly addressed with a diamond shaped escutcheon fronting the original locking mechanism. The interior fitted with twin tea compartments lined with lead paper and retaining their original crossbanded pearwood lids. The exterior exhibiting a wonderful old untouched surface & patina, the underside lined with a very old, if not original green baize panel.
