A Very Good Georgian ‘Old Sheffield Plate’ 3 Piece Entrée Dish, Circa 1825
Comprised of a rectangular hot water reservoir with original wooden insulator carrying handles, receiving a conforming insert & matching lid with a detachable handle. All three seamed bodies having applied gadroon borders, the lid showing ‘let-in’ sterling silver lozenges on both sides engraved with heraldic crests of a griffon in profile. Dimensions, 7.5” high x 13.5” wide x 9” deep
