A Very Good 18th Century Copper Wine Cistern, England or Netherlands Circa 1750
The bellied oval copper body having a rope-twist edge sided by robustly cast & rivet-mounted brass grotesque masks with shaped brass handles, raised upon a conforming stepped base atop a copper-clad iron-rimmed foot with a rope-twist edge. Dimensions, 9.75” high x 16.5” long (rim) 17.5” (with handles) x 12” wide.
Overall condition is very good, minor bruising and wear consistent with age & use.
