A Very Fine Rococo Inspired Gilt Bronze Extending Fire Fender & Chenets, France Circa 1890

 

A finely cast & richly gilded Rococo style gilt bronze fire fender together with a matching pair of gilt bronze chenets. The robust, pierced & foliate cast chenets feature the ability to increase the length of the fender, enabling it to then accommodate a variety of hearth widths. The reverse of the fender stamped with French foundry marks PCCF. All exhibiting a richly gilded surface & old untouched patina.

Dimensions, 17” high x deep x 40.5" wide (extending to 53” wide).
