A Scarce 19th Century Killarney Ware Dresser Box, Ireland Circa 1870
A very handsome 19th century dresser box constructed in Arbutus wood, showing a hinged lid featuring an inlaid marquetry panel depicting Muckross Abbey surrounded by inlaid motifs of meandering vines, thistles & shamrocks. The interior surface of the lid is decorated with four inlaid shamrock motifs centred by an inlaid marquetry reserve depicting Muckross Ruins, opening to a plain interior retaining what appears to be its original lock mechanism & hinges.Dimensions, 3.25” high x 9” wide x 9” deep.
