The sterling silver capsule comprised of two sections that un-screw to reveal a retracting & reticulated iron helix, the exterior of both halves decorated overall with niello acanthus-leaf motifs,. Length 3”

Makers marks partially rubbed but legible for Henry William Dee Ltd.

(Niello is a process whereby copper and lead sulphides are fused into an engraved metal surface - usually silver, creating a highly contrasting decorative effect)
