A Rare Miniature Louis XVI Period Two Drawer Mahogany Commode, France Circa 1790

The case with floating panelled sides and a rectilinear shaped top over two full width drawers decorated with raised ebonized mouldings, flanked on either side by fluted columns terminating to plain toupie feet.

In as found condition and with what appears to be its original untouched surface & finish, the bottom board possibly replaced.

This is not a toy or a piece of children's furniture, it is an authentic scaled-down period example made either by a cabinetmaker's apprentice or by a tradesman as a means to illustrate to potential clients the manner of furniture they manufacture. Dimensions: H 13.5 in. x W 14.25 in. x D 7.75 in.
