  • A Rare Edo Period Hirado Porcelain Netsuke, Japan Circa 1850

     

    The recumbent white porcelain figure of a pug dog shown baring its teeth, decorated by hand with spot painted cobalt detail, the underside with twin holes intended for a cord to pass through & attach it to an obi (sash). Measuring, .7/8" high x 2.1/8" wide x 1" deep. In good overall condition and priced competitively in comparison to similar examples in the marketplace, which are extremely scarce if not rare. Height, 7/8” x 2.18” wide.
