A Rare 19th Century Canadian Brass-Bound Mahogany Writing Box, Dated 1840
A very handsome & richly figured mahogany writing box, bound with brass strapping and fitted with twin flush-mounted brass carrying handles, the top inset with a blank brass cartouche. The interior fitted with two glass inkwells, a removable quill tray and twin leather writing panels lifting to recessed document compartments.
