A George III Sterling Silver Gravy Boat, Hallmarked London 1774

A very good & heavy Georgian sterling silver gravy boat, the large bellied body engraved on one side with a heraldic crest, rising to a wavy rim with an inspired foliate scrolled handle, raised overall on three flattened shell-shaped feet. The underside showing partially rubbed Hallmarks for London & partially rubbed date letter for 1774, makers mark rubbed. Dimensions, 4.5” high x 7.5” long x 4” wide. Weight, 319 grams, (10.25 troy ounces).
