A Finely Carved Japanese Ivory Okimono of Rats, Meiji Period (1868-1912)
The two rats shown ripping open an ear of corn exposing a re-coiling snake, their bodies finely scored to replicate hair, their faces inset with glass eyes rimmed with ink highlights.
Dimensions, 2.5” high x 2.25” long x 1.75” wide. Apparently unsigned, restoration to one arm.
