    A Fine 19th Century Marine Sextant by William Gerrard, Liverpool Circa 1875
    The frame signed W. Gerrard 1 Wapping, Liverpool, showing a silver arc and an index arm fitted with a thumbscrew lock, magnifier, brass telescope and index mirror, complete with 2 pair of sun shades & horizon mirror and mounted with an ebonized handle on the underside. All fitted within a richly figured mahogany keystone- shaped case retaining its original clasps, brass escutcheon & lock mechanism.
    Case Dimensions, 4.75” high x 11” long x 11” wide. Some accessories absent.
    William Gerrard (working 1862-1890) is recorded as sextant maker to the British Royal Navy
