A Fine 19th C. Neoclassical Inspired Serpentine Steel Fire Fender, England Circa 1840

 

 

A fine polished steel fire fender of serpentine form, showing a crosshatch-cut grille interspersed by embossed rosette motifs between double rows of embossed beading. Affixed to a conforming cavetto-shaped foot with hand applied threaded mounts. In extremely good overall condition and exhibiting a fine old surface & patina. Measuring, 54.5” wide x 8” high x 12” deep.
