A Fine 18th Century Rococo Period Plaster Wall Bracket, Italy Circa 1775

A very substantial and fine 18th century Rococo period wall bracket, showing a trefoil shaped plateau above a robust grouping of organic elements composed of leafy vines, flower-heads and 'C' scrolls in high relief, the surface exhibiting an untouched patinated surface with burnished highlights.

The reverse having a horizontal metal hanging bar straddling a recessed pocket - the surrounding area having been recently reinforced. (Surviving plaster brackets of this period are extremely scarce given their age and material).
