A 19th Century Gilt Bronze & Champleve Bud Vase, France Circa 1890

A diminutive gilt bronze & champlevé bud vase, showing a compressed globular shaped base rising to a slender flaring neck, lavishly decorated overall with hand applied foliate motifs in a palette of multi-coloured enamels.

Dimensions, 4.5” high x 2.5” diameter.

Despite its diminutive size this very attractive little vase weighs a substantial 312 grams or 11 ounces. Although there is an early & relatively minor repair at the base of the neck, it nonetheless remains an excellent example / study piece of 19th century European enamelling.
