19th Century Chippendale Style Looking Glass / Console Mirror, Circa 1880

A very handsome Chippendale style looking glass / console mirror, showing an old if not original rectangular plate set within a mahogany veneered frame & solid mahogany moldings, surmounted by a hand carved & gilded eagle centering an architectural ‘broken pediment’, the sides decorated with hand carved giltwood pendants, terminating to a lobe shaped skirt. In very good overall condition with minor areas of crazing to the silvered backing of the plate, two very minor areas of veneer loss to the frame.
